I am about extremes really. Cold high mountains and warm beaches. I want excitement in every part of my life. I spent 10 years wandering the world and somehow ended up in Brighton. I'm passionate about all sorts of things from literature to the fate of the planet but as Emma Goldman said "If I can't dance at your revolution I don't want to come". I like to laugh and have a good sense of humour (this does not include my puns which even I realise should carry a health warning)Things that might make a difference to you. I have 4 wonderful kids - all boys; I am a vegan but don't go on about it; climbing/mountaineering is a big part of my life and I run a charity where I introduce disadvantaged people to adventure. I have recently started scuba diving and free fall parachuting and I now teach bushcraft. And in a surprising new development I watched my first every tv cookery show a couple of weeks ago (River Cottage Veg)! I will save the rest for the 3rd. date when I know a bit more about you. So, share a climb, a film, a bottle, a cuddle.
The idea of a checklist of desirable qualities I find vaguely distasteful as it is often the surprises and quirks which make all the difference. But, I think my ideal would have to be able to share a laugh in the most unlikely of circumstances. You would share at least some of my passions or be open enough to try them. You would need to love the outdoors and want to push your comfort threshold. You would want a more equal world and play a part, however small, in making that happen. You would value the profound rather than the superficial. You would not be obsessed with conforming to an artificial 'norm' and would always let having fun get the upper-hand over behaving conventionally. You would, of course, sweat rather than perspire.
